Grants

Kids First! has a rigorous process to review, approve and monitor grants.

Grant Applications — All requests for grants must be submitted in writing (email preferred or USPS mail).  Applications must specify the reason for the grant, how the grant will be managed if given, the results expected and the means to measure results.  Please use the Grant Application Form below as a basis for any grant submission.

Grant Review — All applications will be reviewed by Kids First who will determine if they comply with the mission of Kids First!, are from qualified institutions, have a high likelihood of success, and have a rigorous process to manage and assess performance against the goals established.  The President of Kids First! will make recommendations to the board of directors who will approve/disapprove grant applications.  All grant applications will receive a written response from Kids First!.

Grant Monitoring — Kids First! will monitor the implementation of all grants awarded to determine if they were used as proposed and if the results expected were achieved.  Future grants to requesting institutions will be evaluated in part based on past success.

Kids First! will principally focus its efforts on Early Learning Programs.  The years from birth to age five are the most critically important period for human development.  High quality early learning initiatives can greatly improve a child’s readiness to begin formal schooling and to thrive in subsequent years.  Kids First! anticipates that approximately 80% of its grants will be in support of early learning initiatives.
