Kids First is governed by a board of directors who serve a minimum of three years. The board will have a minimum of three directors and not more than 10 directors.

Mrs. Black has been involved in education and the arts for over 45 years. She graduated from Connecticut College with a major in art history. Returning to her hometown in Ohio she joined a small arts organization and became its president. During her ten year term the group hired its first professional director and raised the funds to construct an art center which won a Progressive Architecture award. In 1975 she co-founded an independent preschool, elementary and middle school, raising funds and constructing a school which now has 200 students, 25% of whom receive financial aid. Her past experience also includes co-chairing a public school tax levy campaign, being an active member of the Concerned Citizens for the Public Schools, and being a trustee of a community foundation and of a nature preserve and bike trail. She has served on many government and private boards, owned a small restaurant and served many years as a bank director. She and her husband, Joel, are parents of two sons and three granddaughters. Margaret and Joel have been homeowners on St. John since 1999.

Mr. Claflin is the retired President and Chief Executive Officer of 3Com Corporation, a NASDAQ listed company. Mr. Claflin worked 33 years in the IT industry in senior positions with IBM and Digital Equipment, before joining 3Com. Mr. Claflin is chairman of the board of of AMD Corporation (NYSE), and is a member of the board of diretors of Ciena Corporation (NASDAQ). He is a former director of Time Warner Telecom (NASDAQ) and 3Com Corporation. He also serves on the development council of the college of Liberal Arts at Penn State University. Mr. Claflin was awarded the Alumni Fellow Award by Penn State, their highest award for alumni who distinguish themselves in their field of endeavor. Mr. Claflin and his wife Kerry have been homeowners on St. John since 2001. They have three grown children and 3 grandchildren.

Mr. Cummins, known to his friends as Koke, currently serves as Chairman of Mansfield Industries Inc. He attended The Lawrenceville School, M.I.T., The Ohio State University, and Northwestern University where he received an MBA in Finance. During his 45 year business career in manufacturing, Mr. Cummins has served in leadership positions on over 25 community and corporate boards in areas of health care, education, community services and finance. Koke Cummins and his wife, Cheryl began visiting St. John over 40 years ago and bought property on St. John in 1995 where they built a home which they enjoy with their three children and eight grandchildren.
